OCONTO – A boutique in downtown Oconto has a new name and proprietor.
Like its predecessor, Olive + Birch provides women’s outfits and components, these types of as jewelry and purses, but operator Magan Holz plans to grow to deliver sneakers, athletic wear and eventually men’s outfits.
Holz introduced her business’ web site, olivebirchboutique.com, just before Black Friday, then held a grand opening at 1102 Major St. on Jan. 15.
“As much as I adore getting a site, I truly needed to be ready to interact and get to know my prospects,” she explained. “I appreciate to shop and test new apparel and there is absolutely nothing better than getting able to check out on the outfits prior to you get. I do a ton of on line searching but that in some cases can be a hassle possessing to return stuff if it isn’t going to operate out or fit.”
At the end of December, Holz began leasing the building from Lisa Carey-Hirst, who opened Be-You-Tiful Boutique in October 2016.
Holz started off the internet site in hopes of finally opening a retail outlet. She met with Samantha Boucher at Oconto County Financial Advancement Corp., and was accepted for a $10,000 grant from the Most important Road Bounce Back again System.

After deciding to open the storefront, Holz explained she questioned on a Fb write-up if any individual was renting space, to which Carey-Hirst responded.

The store is open Wednesday to Friday midday to 4 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The retail outlet is a next career for Holz, a Janesville indigenous who moved to Oconto in August to be with girlfriend Jen Clements, owner of Encourage Conditioning in Oconto, and closer to her son’s father.
She proceeds to do the job entire-time for a producer in southern Wisconsin in revenue, advertising and marketing and system administration, and is in the business Monday and Tuesday. She performs remotely Wednesday as a result of Friday.
Holz said everyone has been really welcoming and supportive.
“I am so thrilled I made the go and totally like Oconto and the neighborhood,” she explained.
