7 men rob grocery store, jewelry store in Dauphin County

Police in Dauphin County are investigating a robbery at a grocery store and attached jewelry store.It happened around 6:40 p.m. Thursday in the 5400 block of Derry Street.Swatara Township police said seven men – three of them with guns – entered the South Asian Grocery Store and Baral Jewelers and Gift Center.Some of the men watched employees and customers while others stole money from the grocery store cash register and took dozens of pieces of jewelry, police said.According to police, some of the men had hammers and similar objects that were used to smash the display cases in the jewelry store.The men got away in two vehicles. Investigators believe one of the vehicles was a white Audi SUV, and the other was a white or silver BMW SUV.Police also said they believe two other people were waiting in the vehicles while the robbery was being committed.No one was hurt, police said.Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 717-564-2550 or submit a tip online.
